THE MET stands in the business and commercial hub of New Delhi, with the corporate and financial centres, the ministries, the embassies, and the trade fair grounds all a short drive away. It is the address for the traveller who came to the capital to do something, and an urban oasis, with its lawns and its pool, the moment the day is done.

The hotel has been open on this road since 2000. In that time it has become one of the few independently owned five star deluxe hotels left in central Delhi, and much of what makes it worth the walk from Connaught Place is the same thing that keeps its team in place for a decade at a stretch: the warmth is not a service standard here; it is the hotel's temperament.
